Native to Southeast Asia, abaca fiber is exceptionally strong, flexible and buoyant, which is why it’s often used for marine cordage. Abaca is used to make ships’ ropes, cables, fishing lines, and fishing nets - and now, it’s also used to make these stunning baskets.
